WHILE many volunteers and supporters of the Royal British Legion have been out and about across the region selling poppies for the annual fundraising appeal, preparations are also move apace for regional remembrance events.
They will start in Thurrock with the annuak Purfleet Remembrance Day Service at 10am on Sunday, 3 November at Purfleet Heritage Centre. Refreshments will be available.
From there a parade, with the borough Mayor, dignitaries and vintage vehicles will leave at around 10.20am for nearby St Stephen’s Church. A service of remembrance service starts at 10.30am and will be led by new Purfleet vicar Rev Matt Drummond.
