More roadworks will cause traffic disruption in town

STANFORD-le-Hope appears set for more traffic blight after signs appeared telling residents and motorists a major access road is to be closed for a week.

The town is already frequently suffering long delays at some peak times due to the A13 road widening project and the frequent failings of a traffic light installation at Buckingham Hill Road also back traffic up.

Changes to town centre parking regulations have also caused lots of debate and problems for residents, drivers and businesses in the town centre.

Recently it was announced that gas company Cadent is to start work on London Road, the main access to the west of the town and now Essex and Suffolk Water have put up signs saying London Road is to be closed for a week.

The water company will be working on a new connection in the road, meaning its closure from Monday, 23 September until Friday, 27 September.
