Guild holds annual meeting

A RECENT meeting of Grays Townswomen’s Guild was their AGM and celebrated 65 years since their first meeting. 

A tombola was held at the start of the meeting which was a sell out and raised funds for the annual dinner in April.

The chairman welcomed members and visitors to the meeting and following tea the business of the AGM was dealt with. 

The retiring committee was re-elected with the addition of Rita Donaldson. 

Officers’ reports were given and the cup for receiving the most points in the monthly competition was presented to Wendy Spanton, together with a gift token.

President for the coming year will be Audrey Haines and she was presented with her badge of office by the chairman.

Chairman gave up to date information on forthcoming events with a reminder that at the next meeting on Wednesday, 27h March the craft stall would hold a sale of work   Visitors are very welcome to the meeting held at the Methodist Church Hall, Hathaway Road, Grays, at 1.30pm.
