Police appeal after teenager dies

POLICE are investigating following an incident in Grays where a teenager was stabbed in the chest.

The victim, a 17 year-old boy, had been assaulted in Charles Street some time between 8.30pm and 9.20pm on Tuesday, 5 February.

He was attacked after being approached by a group of five or six people and suffered a small wound to his chest.

The injury is not life-threatening or life-changing.

A police spokesperson said: “We believe this was a targeted and isolated attack and there is no risk to the wider public.
