Cash boost for organisations that help young people

PROJECTS that help children, young people and young carers in Thurrock are being invited to apply for grants from a borough charity.

Giving for Thurrock (incorporating Thurrock Community Chest) has announces that the first round of funding has become available from the various fund raising activities that have been undertaken over the past nine months.

The first round of grants is being directed at projects or activities which aim to enhance or support work benefiting children, young people and young carers.

A limited number of grants of up to £1,500 are available; applications are invited from established community groups/associations or from individuals who may be having difficulty accessing mainstream funding.

Funding can be applied for to support a range of expenses, for example, equipment, training, respite care etc. Beneficiaries must live in Thurrock.
Giving for Thurrock also have a limited number of Giving for Thurrock Small Grants available, up to £500 for groups and £300 for individuals.

This money is available for small group projects or to kick start a larger project. Individuals can apply for assistance with purchasing educational equipment, or access to employment training or towards tools for their job etc.
