Issues on ferry service cause cancellations and delay

The Jacob Marley

THE Tilbury to Gravesend ferry service has suffered disruption today, with several crossings cancelled.

While work is being carried out on the jetty at Tilbury, a replacement boat which is able to moor at a different point is being used, but today the crew reported the Jacob Marley had problems when they arrived this morning.
There was a short belay but peak times services did take place.

However, at around 11am Jetstream, who operate the ferry, said the boat would be taken out of service for a ‘slight mechanical repair’. At 12.30pm they reported repairs were expected to take around 90 minutes.

At 2.40pm it was announced the service would resume shortly after 3pm.
