AVELEY played their first match at their new Parkside ground last Wednesday when they entertained Dulwich Hamlet of the Bostik Premier, who fielded a strong team which was reflected in a 5-0 win.

Millers were back in action and still await their first goal on their new pitch after going down 2-0 to another Bostik Premier side, Harlow Town.

Tilbury were also beaten in a friendly by a Bostik Premier side, entertaining last season’s surprise Isthmian North winners Brightlingsea Regent and going down 4-2.

Luke Hornsley opened the scoring for the Dockers, which was quickly cancelled out by a trialist for the visitors.

Tony Martin restored the lead on 27 minutes but it was all square at half time thanks to Aaron Condon’s 34th minute goal. He added another ten minutes into the second half and the scoring was wrapped up by Regent’s Jake Clowsley on 70 minutes.
