STUDENTS from Arthur Bugler Primary in Stanford-le-Hope have chosen Jackson’s Smile as its Charity of the Year 2019.

Jackson’s Smile is a local charity established by Darren Garwood in support of his incredible son, Jackson. To clarify, Jackson was diagnosed with infantile Krabbe disease at one years old.

Doctors advised that Jackson would lose key skills such as eating, talking and the ability to move. His life expectancy was significantly reduced. However, Jackson turned five years old in August this year and continues to amaze those around him!

Jackson is also a superhero thanks to his wonderful father who has written a series of books entitled “Jackson Superhero”. Darren wanted Jackson to hear stories of how anything is possible when you dream.

Mr John Bryant, Headteacher at Arthur Bugler Primary is delighted to support Jackson’s Smile. In an interview he said: “If Jackson attended our school we would welcome him with open arms. At Arthur Bugler there are no outsiders; everyone is welcome at our school. No one is the same, but everyone is equal”.

Alongside the support of the School Council, Arthur Bugler Primary intend to arrange a variety of fundraisers to raise money for Jackson’s Smile and promote such a worthwhile cause.
