Convent acclaimed for its diversity

GRAYS Convent was recently presented with the Bronze Level of the Learning Workz Diversity Award by borough Mayor Cllr Tunde Ojetola.
While at the school Mayor Tunde Ojetola was given a tour by headteacher Penny Johnson and was then shown a snippet of the school production of the musical Sister Act.
After a brief tea and cake break, which was served by a handful of pupils Cllr Ojetola presented Headteacher Mrs Johnson, Assistant headteacher Mrs Wells, Head of Lower School Mr Paraiwa and Head of PSHEC\Careers Mrs Michalkiewicz with the Bronze Level Diversity Award.
The award recognises “the commitment by the school leadership team to preventing extremism and achieving excellence in the spiritual, moral, social and cultural education of all students, while striving for equality of educational outcomes and a focus on a global education perspective, that enables students to respect difference and value diversity.”
