LAKESIDE Hammers young rider Alfie Bowtell missed out on a place in the final heat of the British Under 21 Championship final at Berwick last night (Tuesday, 1 May) after falling in his semi-final.
Bowtell had accumulated 12 points in his heats, the third highest on the night, level with Nathan Greaves of Wolverhampton. Greaves finished second in the semi, to go through with winner Connor Mountain from Ipswich.
The final was won by Kings Lynn’s Robert Lambert.
Hammers’ Zach Wajtknecht fell in his last heat and collected seven points, finishing ninth on the evening.
