A NIGHT of drama and controversy saw Tilbury end up second best in Tuesday’s Botk North clash against promotion-chasing Bowers, whose keeper Callum Chafer saved two penalties before John Easterford scored a last gasp winner.
Tilbury played much of the match with then men after Kris Newby was sent off for a poor challenge, four minutes after equalising for Dockers in the 32nd minute, cancelling out. Jamie Dicks’s fifth minute opener.
At the start of the second half, Chafer saved the first of two Tilbury penalties, diving to his right to keep out Adam Vyse’s penalty. Chafer then stopped Tobias Aromolaran’s spotkick, the Bowers goalkeeper having brought down the same player.
Five minutes from time Tony Stokes made it 2-1 to Bowers bvut the twn men hit back within two minutes through Charlie Little – only for Easterford to head home a 91st minute winner.
